Учебный корпус № 1 (Минина и Пожарского. д.10/1)

The building was constructed in 1912–1913 for the Volga Steamship Company, designed by the Vesnin brothers—renowned architects of their time. In 1930, it was transferred to the Gorky Medical Institute.

Situated in the very heart of Nizhny Novgorod’s historic district, its façade overlooks the city’s main square and the Upper Volga Embankment.

It commands a picturesque panoramic view of the Volga River and impresses with its harmonious proportions, elegant design, and distinctive architectural features—among them, a deep loggia on the second floor, and a striking semicircular rotunda on the side façade, adorned with Ionic columns and pilasters.

Construction of the building began in 1936, but the outbreak of the Great Patriotic War inevitably disrupted the plans.

Work resumed only after the war, and the building was finally completed in 1958.
Initially, it housed 14 theoretical departments.

Today, it remains in active academic use, accommodating a number of departments.

Since the late 19th century, the building has housed one of the wings of the Provincial Zemstvo Hospital—today known as the N. A. Semashko Regional Clinical Hospital.

From 1911, the building housed a children’s shelter—the “Home for Foundlings”—which was later reorganized in 1929 into the Pediatric Institute.

Спортивно-оздоровительный комплекс ПИМУ "Ритм"

The sports hall (42 m × 24 m) is designed for team and ball sports. A retractable divider curtain allows the space to be split into two separate areas. Floor markings are provided for mini-football, basketball, volleyball, and badminton.

Spectator seating is available on tiered stands accommodating up to 355 people.

The 285 m² fitness center is equipped for strength and cardio training: cable-pulley machines, free weights—including a dumbbell rack with 20 pairs ranging from 2.5 kg to 50 kg—and barbells. Cardio equipment includes three treadmills, three elliptical trainers, and one stationary bike.
