In 2018, the Nizhny Novgorod State Medical Academy (NizhGMA), well known in Russia and abroad, became the Volga Region Research Medical University (PIMU).

For the first time in almost 100 years of existence, the university acquired its own clinical base with 450 beds, but competent training of doctors is impossible without a proper scientific base.

Focusing on the development of digital medicine, 3D printing technologies, biomedicine, neurolinguistics, fundamental and preventive medicine, we are counting on young and enterprising staff.

Biography

Nikolai Nikolaevich Karyakin was born on 11 October 1975 in Kolomna, Moscow Region.
In 2000, he graduated from the Ryazan Medical University named after Academician I.P. Pavlov (2000) with a degree in Medicine.
He completed his clinical residency (2002) and then his postgraduate studies (2005) in neurosurgery at the M.F. Vladimirsky Moscow Regional Clinical Research Institute.
The topic of his candidate's dissertation was ‘Pneumocerebral syndrome: clinical presentation, diagnosis and treatment’ (2005).
The topic of his doctoral dissertation was ‘Scientific justification of ways to improve the effectiveness of healthcare management in conditions of separation of powers between levels of government’ (2014).
In 2005, he graduated from the State University of Management with a degree in State and Municipal Management. In 2015, he underwent advanced training in pedagogy and psychology of higher education; in 2016, he underwent advanced training in ‘Healthcare Organisation and Public Health’.
Member of the Public Council at the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
