• Step 1

  🌐 First things first — check the PRMU quota list on the Education in Russia portal and make sure your desired program is included.

   📌 This is the very first step before registration and submitting your application — don’t skip it!

• Step 2

  Register on *Education in Russia* portal

  Register on the portal Education in Russia and create a quota application.

  On the portal, you need to fill out the form, select the program/university (you can choose several options), upload scanned documents, and submit the application for review. All documents are uploaded through your personal account.

• Step 3

  Prepare Documents:
  Passport
  Diploma
  Translations
  Apostille/legalization
  Medical Certificate

  Prepare the required documents: passport + notarized translation into Russian, diploma/certificate + transcript + notarized translation, consular legalization or apostille (depending on the country), medical certificate (with notarized translation).

• Step 4

  Apply via Rossotrudnichestvo in your country

  Submit your application through the Rossotrudnichestvo office in your country (first stage of selection).

  The quota selection usually takes place through Rossotrudnichestvo representative offices/embassies — this is where the first (country-level) stage of candidate selection is held.

• Step 5

  Pass Interview/Testing

  Pass the entrance tests/interview at the first stage.

  In your country, the Rossotrudnichestvo office may conduct an interview or online testing — be prepared for document verification and motivation assessment.

• Step 6

   Wait for PRMU Review (entrance exams)

  Second stage — University review.

  After passing the selection in your country, your application is forwarded to the University (PRMU). The University conducts its own review: additional tests or entrance exams (online/offline) may be required. PRMU requires entrance examinations.

• Step 7

  Get the Invitation → contact Ministry of Science and Higher Education

  Receive your official invitation and get enrolled!

  If approved, you will receive an official invitation (through the Rossotrudnichestvo system/university). With it, you can apply for a student visa at the Russian consulate.

• Step 8

  Apply for Student Visa (HIV test, application form, etc.)

  Apply for a student visa — prepare medical certificates (including HIV test) and your invitation.

  For a student visa, you usually need: an official invitation, a negative HIV test (valid for 3 months), a photo, a completed application form, etc. Please check the exact requirements with the Russian consulate in your country.

• Step 9

  Arrival in Russia → registration, medical check, enrollment

  Arrival in Russia — registration and mandatory procedures.

  Upon arrival, you MUST complete Migration Registration, as well as Medical Examination/Biometrics within the period established by law. After that — official enrollment and the START of studies.
