Let No One Forget. Let Nothing Be Forgotten
During the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945), Uzbekistan was part of the USSR in the status of a union republic, and entered the war after the army of Nazi Germany invaded the Soviet Union on June 22, 1941. As the war proceeded, 1.5 million residents of the republic participated in the battles. Therefore, on April 22, foreign students of the Faculty of Joint Degree Programs, citizens of Uzbekistan, felt compelled to take part in a solemn event dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
The event was hosted by the Ministry of International and Interregional Relations of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. B.M. Pudalov, Head of the Committee for Archives of the Nizhny Novgorod region, told international students about the contribution that Gorky residents made to the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The participants laid flowers to the Monument to Gorky Residents – Valiant Home Front Workers.
